Graphic designer for cannabis tech startup

We are looking for a graphic designer and marketing specialist who can support a creative, high-volume content strategy by producing visually compelling art, images, illustrations, and interactive media. You should be comfortable editing photos, creating original vector-based illustrations, and implementing brand standards to maintain a consistent aesthetic across multiple digital formats. You should understand basic content marketing concepts and be comfortable providing art direction to fulfill strategic and tactical deliverables.


This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that can be completed 100% remotely, but if you’re in the Los Angeles area, you’re welcome to work out of our Marina Del Rey office. This is an independent contractor position, with the potential to shift into a full-time role based on performance.


$40-60 an hour, depending on experience


—Collaborate with writers, editors, and other producers to develop a compelling digital marketing strategy.

— Assist in developing creative concepts for editorial and social media calendars and provide individual graphic support for each platform, as needed.

—To use clever and innovative graphics to support a variety of content such as commercial intent, data-driven, thought leadership, community engagement, and others.

—Identify new ways to use graphic design to reach and engage new and existing customers.

—Implement best practices for image optimization, meta data, and digital file management.

—Natural self-starter and resourceful in nature. Strong project management skills and ability to foresee obstacles within deadlines and communicate effectively to key stakeholders.


—Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch for designing and editing photos, illustrations, and other graphics.

—Experience creating original vector-based designs.

—Ability to adhere to brand standards and style guidelines.

—Web-savvy with a true passion for digital art, design, and user experience.

—A solid understanding of digital marketing, and content marketing in particular.

—Self-starter, highly motivated to succeed under minimal supervision.

—Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript a plus.

—Experience and/or passion for cannabis preferred.
